Netball Fiji has announced that discussions regarding the proposed Pacific Series with Netball New Zealand are ongoing. President Ruby Ann Sorovaki shared that they have proposed to Netball NZ the option of postponing the series to a later date, allowing them more time to prepare adequately.
Sorovaki emphasized the importance of thorough planning, particularly in securing necessary funding and preparing their teams to meet the expectations of the series. Netball NZ initially envisioned the series for January 2025, which would replace the customary annual matchups against England and Australia.
This ongoing dialogue signals a commitment from both organizations to strengthen netball in the Pacific region, and with careful planning, it may lead to a more successful event in the future.
With the potential postponement, this could also allow teams more time to develop their skills and enhance their competitive edge, contributing positively to the growth of the sport.
