Former Flying Fijians winger Nemani Nadolo has embarked on a new role in coaching with Box Hill Rugby in Melbourne. He expressed his excitement about the opportunity to work alongside Rayne Simpson while contributing to the 1st grade squad, a chance he deemed too valuable to pass up.

As Nadolo transitions from his playing career, he expressed gratitude to the Box Hill Rugby Board for entrusting him with this role and allowing him to share his extensive rugby knowledge with the senior team. He acknowledged the difference between playing and coaching, emphasizing his intent to approach this new journey as a learner.

“This is an exciting new chapter in my life, and I can’t wait to learn, grow, and give my all to the journey ahead,” stated the 36-year-old, who hails from Namatakula in Nadroga. Nadolo’s retirement followed an injury sustained while playing for the Waratahs in Super Rugby Pacific last year.

Nadolo’s transition into coaching not only marks a new beginning for him but also serves as an inspiration for emerging players. His journey from player to coach reflects the potential paths athletes can explore after their playing days, showcasing the valuable experience and insights they can offer to the next generation in the sport. This shift could strengthen the rugby community in Melbourne, as Nadolo imparts his knowledge and passion for the game to aspiring players.
