Former Flying Fijians winger Nemani Nadolo has embarked on a new chapter in his career by stepping into the coaching realm in Melbourne with Box Hill Rugby. Eager to share his expertise, Nadolo expressed his excitement about working alongside Rayne Simpson and taking on a role with the 1st grade squad, an opportunity he did not hesitate to accept.

As he transitions from player to coach, Nadolo conveyed his gratitude to the Box Hill Rugby Board for trusting him with this new responsibility. He acknowledges the distinction between playing and coaching, recognizing the need to approach this role with a learner’s mindset. “I’m looking forward to being a student of the game,” he stated, highlighting the importance he places on continuous growth and adaptation.

At 36, Nadolo retired last year following an injury sustained while playing for the Waratahs in Super Rugby Pacific. This new coaching opportunity symbolizes a promising beginning for him, allowing him to contribute to the sport he loves in a different capacity. With enthusiasm for this exciting journey ahead, Nadolo aims to give his all in this next phase of his life.

This shift from a celebrated player to a coach is encouraging not only for Nadolo but also for aspiring athletes who seek to contribute to their sports in meaningful ways post-retirement. Nadolo’s journey serves as a reminder that the passion for the game can continue to flourish even after the final whistle blows on a playing career.
