Former Flying Fijians winger Nemani Nadolo has embarked on a new career in coaching with Box Hill Rugby in Melbourne. This opportunity allows him to work alongside coach Rayne Simpson and contribute to the 1st grade squad, which he expresses as an offer he couldn’t refuse.
Nadolo shared his gratitude for the chance to pass on his rugby experience to the senior team, stating, “As my playing days are over, I’m deeply grateful to the Box Hill Rugby Board for trusting me with this role and giving me the chance to share my rugby knowledge.” He recognizes the shift from being a player to a coach, emphasizing the significance of embracing the learning process in his new role.
“This is an exciting new chapter in my life, and I can’t wait to learn, grow, and give my all to the journey ahead,” Nadolo remarked enthusiastically.
The 36-year-old, hailing from Namatakula in Nadroga, officially retired last year following an injury sustained while competing for the Waratahs in the Super Rugby Pacific.
This transition from player to coach demonstrates Nadolo’s commitment to the sport and his desire to impact the next generation of rugby players positively. As he steps into this new phase, there’s a hopeful outlook that his wealth of experience will enhance the Box Hill Rugby team and inspire aspiring athletes.
