The National Development Plan (NDP) is set to be officially launched next Tuesday, with Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka presiding over the event.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Biman Prasad emphasized that the launch will mark the beginning of a comprehensive plan aimed at fostering national unity and a collective vision for social, economic, and political progress.
“Our National Development Plan will be launched on Tuesday by the Prime Minister,” Prasad noted. “We have the potential to become a prosperous nation in the next 25 to 30 years, but this cannot be achieved if we continue with the status quo.”
He highlighted the importance of political stability, consistent policies, and a methodical, transparent, and accountable approach in moving forward.
The Ministry of Finance is leading the NDP initiative, building upon the achievements from the Economic Summit, the Fiscal Review Committee report, and the Education Summit.
“We are confident as a Government that we will create a legacy—regardless of our time in office—that fosters a political culture and leadership allowing for a peaceful, transparent, and accountable transition of power,” Prasad concluded.
