Navua achieved a convincing 3-0 victory over Labasa in their final Group A match of the 2024 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) held in Lautoka today, enhancing their chances of reaching the semifinals.
Arami Manumanubai opened the scoring for the team coached by Saiyad Ali in the 8th minute, putting them ahead 1-0. Shortly after halftime, young striker Usaia Tilivarua extended Navua’s lead. Defender Isake Naduvu then secured the win with another goal in the final moments of the match.
With this win, Stratum Construction/Zeg Investment Navua now holds four points and will be watching the outcome of the Lautoka versus Suva game to determine their progression. Lautoka, with three points, needs a victory over Suva to advance alongside Labasa, while Suva, sitting on one point, must secure a significant win to keep their semifinal hopes alive.
