Navua Combine Masters clinched the title in the BOG Veteran Tournament 40s final by defeating Suva Combine in a nail-biting penalty shootout at the Uprising Sports Center in Pacific Harbour. The match concluded in a goalless draw after regulation time, necessitating the penalty shootout to determine the winner.

This victory is particularly significant for Navua, marking a notable improvement from last year when they finished as runners-up in the same tournament. Following the match, team executive and player Rahul Prakash dedicated the triumph to Danford, acknowledging his extensive contributions both on and off the pitch.

Another team leader, Ravinesh Pal, commended the players for their commitment, as several traveled long distances from the Western and Northern divisions to participate in training sessions. Additionally, veteran striker Valerio Nawatu earned the accolade of Player of the Tournament for his outstanding performance throughout the matches.

In a related note, Navua Legends also achieved success in the 45s category by winning the plate final, underscoring the strength and depth of Navua teams in veteran football competitions.

The spirit displayed by the Navua teams exemplifies the dedication and passion that veteran football players have for the sport, fostering camaraderie and community among participants. Such victories not only bring joy to the players but also inspire fans and encourage ongoing participation in local sports events.
