Navua triumphed with a 2-1 victory over Tailevu Naitasiri in Round 16 of the 2024 Digicel Premier League at Ratu Cakobau Park today.
The match began with Navua taking the lead thanks to a remarkable header from Kolinio Sivoki. Despite Tailevu Naitasiri’s efforts to equalize with several strong attempts, Navua’s goalkeeper Jovilisi Borisi showcased exceptional skill, making critical saves, including a close header from France Katorogo.
In the second half, Ali Mekawir extended Navua’s advantage with a precise shot from the edge of the 18-yard box that hit the far right-hand post.
Though Tailevu Naitasiri’s Mosese Nabose converted a penalty in the final moments of the game, it was insufficient to turn the tide in their favor.
