Navua secured a decisive 3-0 victory over Labasa in their final Group A match of the 2024 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) held in Lautoka today, keeping their semifinal aspirations alive.
The team, coached by Saiyad Ali, took the lead early with an 8th-minute goal from Arami Manumanubai. Following the break, young striker Usaia Tilivarua extended their lead, scoring shortly after the second half began. Defender Isake Naduvu added to the tally with a late goal, ensuring a comfortable win for Navua.
With this victory, Stratum Construction/Zeg Investment Navua now has four points and will closely monitor the upcoming match between Lautoka and Suva to determine their fate in the tournament. Lautoka sits with three points, and a win over Suva would enable them to advance alongside Labasa. Meanwhile, Suva, holding just one point, will require a substantial win to secure a place in the semifinals.
