The Blue Gas Navua football team achieved a significant milestone in the Extra Premier League by moving to third place in the standings after a decisive 2-nil victory against Nadroga. This victory followed closely on the heels of Ba’s 1-all draw against Suva, allowing Navua to capitalize on the situation and secure their position.

Nadroga initially put pressure on Navua’s defense early in the match, with Siotama Kubu spearheading their attacking efforts. However, it was Kolinio Sivoki who broke the deadlock for Navua with a beautifully struck free kick from outside the penalty area. Just before halftime, Navua further solidified their lead when Jared Rongolisua converted a penalty after a foul on an attacker inside the box, ending the first half 2-nil in favor of the home side.

In the second half, Nadroga made tactical adjustments, including moving Semesa Sacere into an attacking role, but they were unable to penetrate Navua’s resilient defense, which held firm to maintain a clean sheet.

In additional matches, Lautoka managed to climb to 18 points after a 2-nil victory against Nasinu, with Sakaraia Naisua and Sitiveni Cavuilagi scoring the goals to bolster their standings. Meanwhile, Nadi secured a win against Tavua, bringing additional excitement to the league.

Navua’s recent success reflects their strong performance this season, showcasing their determination and resilience on the field. Fans are hopeful that Navua will continue this promising trajectory, making the remainder of the season an engaging experience for supporters and football enthusiasts alike.
