Navua FC achieved a surprising victory in the 2024 FMF Inter District Championship’s Super Premier competition by defeating the favored Rewa FC 2-1 in the second semi-final held at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
Despite being down 1-0 at halftime due to a goal from Rewa’s Samuela Kautoga, Navua made a strong comeback in the second half. Goals from Simione Damuni and Kolinio Sivoki secured their place in the final.
Navua’s coach, Saiyad Ali, expressed pride in his team’s performance, stating that they are proving to be the most consistent side in the country. He noted the hard work and dedication that led them to this point, mentioning that despite a missed penalty and being behind, the team continued to fight for the win.
Navua is set to face Labasa in the Super Premier final tomorrow at 3 PM.
