Navua has been eliminated from the 2024 Flick Hygiene Pacific Community Cup after suffering a 3-1 loss to the Manukau All Stars at Churchill Park in Lautoka. This defeat meant that Navua missed the chance to advance in the tournament.

After the victory, Manukau secured their place in the semifinals. They took an early lead when Ni-Vanuatu Alex Saniel scored in the 15th minute. Team captain Jack Caunter then extended their advantage before halftime, and Garbhan Coughlan, the tournament’s top scorer, contributed another goal early in the second half.

Navua’s situation worsened as goalkeeper Jovilisi Borisi was sent off for violent conduct, leaving the team down to ten players. Despite the challenges, defender Filipe Baravilala managed to score a consolation goal for Navua toward the end of the match.

With Manukau All Stars advancing, the remaining semifinal slot will be contested between the host team Lautoka and the AuFFI All Stars in the final match of the day.

While it’s disappointing for Navua to exit the tournament, their effort and determination throughout the competition are commendable. Looking forward, they can take this experience to regroup and strengthen their team for future matches.

In summary, Manukau All Stars progressed to the semifinals after defeating Navua 3-1, while Navua’s campaign came to an end under challenging circumstances. The upcoming match will determine the last semifinalist.
