Navua defeated Labasa 3-0 in their final Group A match of the 2024 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) in Lautoka today, keeping their semifinal aspirations alive.
Arami Manumanubai scored the opening goal in the 8th minute, giving the team, coached by Saiyad Ali, an early lead. Young striker Usaia Tilivarua increased Navua’s lead right after the second half began, and defender Isake Naduvu sealed the victory with a late goal.
Stratum Construction/Zeg Investment Navua now has four points and will await the outcome of the Lautoka vs. Suva match to determine their fate. Host Lautoka sits on three points, and a victory against Suva would secure their progression along with Labasa, while Suva, with only one point, needs a decisive win to advance.
