Navua triumphed over Labasa with a decisive 3-0 victory in their final Group A match of the 2024 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) held in Lautoka today, keeping their semifinal aspirations alive.
Arami Manumanubai opened the scoring for Navua in the 8th minute, giving the team a 1-0 lead under the guidance of coach Saiyad Ali. Young striker Usaia Tilivarua increased Navua’s lead shortly after the second half began, and defender Isake Naduvu capped off the scoring with a late goal.
With this win, Stratum Construction/Zeg Investment Navua has accumulated four points and will now await the outcome of the Lautoka versus Suva match to determine their chances of advancing. Host team Lautoka has three points, and a victory over Suva would secure their progression alongside Labasa. Meanwhile, Suva, currently with one point, must secure a convincing win to have a chance to advance.
