Navigating Change: Military Leadership’s New Vision

Commodore Humphrey Tawake, Deputy Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, emphasized the importance of strategic vision in decision-making during the launch of the Veiliutaki Framework Lead Systems this week.

He noted that alongside the evolving roles of modern military leadership, effective communication is crucial in navigating the complexities of the current strategic military landscape.

Commodore Tawake stated that leadership involves understanding organizational processes. He described system leadership as fostering a culture where systemic approaches can thrive.

“System leaders set the tone for an organization to operate more systematically and inspire staff to incorporate systems-based strategies in their work,” he explained. “This approach will be transformative and will necessitate accountability and transparency in fulfilling the responsibilities of a systems leader.”

The program aims to empower leaders at the majors, captains, and warrant officer levels within the RFMF.
