The Navala Youth sevens rugby team is gearing up for the McDonald’s Fiji Coral Coast 7s tournament, set to take place from January 16-18 at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka. Team official Ilairo Belo has expressed optimism despite facing various challenges throughout their preparations.

Belo mentioned that the team organized their own fundraising efforts to cover transportation and accommodation costs for the three-day event. This determination shows a remarkable commitment to their goal, even in the face of adverse weather and inadequate training facilities. The players have had to improvise training methods, often using tires for workouts due to the absence of proper gym equipment. This year marks the second participation of the Navala Youth team in the Coral Coast 7s, and their aim is to reach the playoffs.
