Construction has commenced on a significant $30 million mall project in Nausori, poised to transform the local business landscape and generate numerous job opportunities.
The Amra’s Mall project, located in Lakena just outside Nausori town, will offer various facilities, including retail stores, dining venues, entertainment options, health and wellness centers, as well as parking and public spaces.
Mahendar Singh, managing director of Amra’s Hire Plant Ltd, highlighted the company’s commitment to investing in new projects and developments as part of their strategy to become a leading local investor and significantly contribute to Fiji’s economic and social advancement.
“This initiative stimulates economic activity, creates job opportunities, and enhances the well-being and development of local communities,” Singh stated.
Kamal Chetty, CEO of Investment Fiji, remarked that the project serves as a strong indicator of confidence in the nation’s economy.
“Amra’s investment in Nausori demonstrates the trust that investors have in Fiji’s potential, and it will improve the quality of life for local residents,” Chetty noted.
“Our goal is to foster a vibrant and dynamic business environment that attracts both local and foreign investors, providing opportunities for Fiji’s economic growth.”
Launched last year, the two-storey mall project is projected to be completed by mid-2026. Investment Fiji indicates that Amra’s project is strategically situated near major transportation hubs, amidst a rapidly growing population, showcasing strong economic potential while also offering community development benefits.
