Construction has commenced on a significant $30 million mall project expected to transform the business landscape and generate numerous job opportunities in Nausori.
The Amra’s Mall, situated in Lakena just outside Nausori town, will offer a variety of facilities and amenities such as retail shops, dining options, entertainment venues, health and wellness centers, along with parking and public spaces.
Mahendar Singh, managing director of Amra’s Hire Plant Ltd, emphasized their commitment to ongoing investment in new projects and developments to reinforce their standing as a leading local investor and to make a substantial contribution to Fiji’s economic and social growth.
“This initiative stimulates economic activity, creates job opportunities, and enhances the well-being and development of local communities,” Singh stated.
Kamal Chetty, CEO of Investment Fiji, described the project as a strong sign of confidence in the nation’s economy.
“Amra’s investment in Nausori is a testament to the trust investors have in Fiji’s potential and will improve the quality of life for local residents,” Chetty commented.
“Our vision is to foster a vibrant and dynamic business environment for both local and international investors, paving the way for Fiji’s economic growth.”
The two-storey mall project was unveiled last year, with completion anticipated by mid-2026.
Investment Fiji noted that Amra’s project is strategically located near key transportation hubs, amidst a rapidly expanding population, and possesses strong economic potential, all while contributing to community development.
