The Cabinet has given its approval for new fees and charges to be levied by the Nausori Town Council for market stall rentals at the recently opened Nakasi Market. This decision was made during a cabinet meeting held in Suva yesterday.
Additionally, the Cabinet also reviewed and approved updates to market stall fees that had been established in September of the previous year for other towns, including Levuka, Rakiraki, and Tavua. Furthermore, revisions concerning Public Service Vehicle (PSV) base fees, user-pay public conveniences, and garbage collection services in Rakiraki and Tavua were also sanctioned.
These changes are set to take effect once the relevant By-laws are published in the official gazette.
As the community sees the development of new markets and the adjustment of fees, it reflects a proactive approach by the government to enhance local commerce and infrastructure, which could lead to improved services and economic growth in the region. These measures are a positive step towards modernizing market operations and improving service delivery to the public.
