The Cabinet has officially sanctioned the fees that will be imposed by the Nausori Town Council for renting market stalls at the newly built Nakasi Market. This decision was reached during a cabinet meeting held in Suva yesterday.
This move comes as an extension to the adjustments made to market stall fees last September for other towns including Levuka, Rakiraki, and Tavua. Additionally, the Cabinet approved updates to the base fees for Public Service Vehicles (PSV), as well as user-pay fees for public conveniences and garbage collection services specifically for Rakiraki and Tavua.
The new fees and changes will take effect following the publication of the relevant By-laws in the gazette.
This initiative reflects ongoing efforts by the government to improve local market infrastructure and services, which can enhance community engagement and support economic growth in the region. The adjustments are part of a broader strategy to adapt to the needs of local businesses and residents, ensuring a sustainable environment for commerce.
