Nausori Town Council Unveils New Market Stall Fees Amid Changes!

The Cabinet has sanctioned the fees and charges set by the Nausori Town Council for market stall rentals at the newly erected Nakasi Market. This decision was reached during a cabinet meeting held in Suva yesterday.

This new fee structure builds upon the modifications made last September, which established fees for market stalls in Levuka, Rakiraki, and Tavua. Additionally, the Cabinet approved revisions to Public Service Vehicle (PSV) base fees, user-pay public conveniences, and garbage collection services specifically for Rakiraki and Tavua.

These changes will take effect following the publication of the relevant By-laws in the gazette.

This decision reflects a proactive approach by the government to support local governance and community services, fostering an organized marketplace and improved public amenities. By ensuring that market operations are supported by clear financial guidelines, it may enhance economic activity in the region, ultimately benefiting local vendors and consumers.
