Commissioner Tudravu emphasized the Fiji Police Force’s unwavering stance against any abuse of authority by its officers. He confirmed that internal disciplinary actions will begin as soon as the officers implicated are identified. He remarked that such serious allegations not only threaten to undermine the multifaceted efforts aimed at rebuilding public trust and confidence in the police force, but they also highlight the crucial need for accountability in police reform.

“These allegations are detrimental to the work being done to restore confidence in the Fiji Police Force,” he said, adding that addressing these issues is a top priority for the department. The Commissioner assured the public that the investigation will uphold fairness and transparency, adhering to established procedures while the Force continues to strengthen professional standards and ethical conduct among its personnel.

The commitment to accountability and ethical practices is essential for maintaining public confidence in the police as they work towards enhancing their relationship with the community.
