The Cabinet has approved the Final Report of the National Security and Defence Review (NSDR). The review was spearheaded by Independent Review Lead James Sanday, supported by an Editorial Board comprising Professor Satish Chand, Assistant Professor Ana Rokomokoti, and Associate Professor Shailendra Singh.
The NSDR Report was created through extensive consultations with more than 50 stakeholders from the government, community, and civil society. The Review Team plans to release a public version of the Final Report and organize a public validation workshop by the end of October 2024.
In addition, an inter-agency taskforce led by the Ministry of Home Affairs & Immigration will initiate the drafting of a National Security Strategy (NSS), aiming for completion by December 2024. The NSS will incorporate the findings and recommendations from the NSDR Final Report.
