Livai Natave, the front rower for the Flying Fijians and Swire Shipping Fijian Drua, is determined to increase his participation in this year’s Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season. The athlete from Moala Village in Nadi understands that achieving this goal requires dedication and hard work, and he is prepared to make the necessary sacrifices.
Natave emphasized the importance of hard work in a competitive environment, stating, “I have to work hard and then work harder.” He recognizes the intense competition for spots in the forward pack and is focused on his responsibilities as a player.
His selection to the Flying Fijians last year provided a significant morale boost as he enters the current season. Reflecting on his experience, he noted, “It was great, playing against Scotland; not the result we had wanted, but to hit that stage was a good feeling.”
With a productive off-season and a strong pre-season behind him, Natave believes he is on the right path to meet his goals for the year. He expressed optimism about the season ahead, saying, “I am hopeful we will have a great year this year.”
In line with Natave’s anticipation, the Fijian Drua will kick off their season against the Brumbies at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva next week, with the match set to begin at 3:35 PM.
This upcoming season holds promise not just for Natave but for the entire Drua team as they look to make their mark in the league.
