The game began with an energetic Natabua side taking the lead. Sairusi Seru scored the first try in the 10th minute, giving Natabua an early advantage. Following that, Topoto converted a penalty to stretch the lead to 10-0. Marist responded with resilience, and Viliame Elo scored a try, narrowing the gap before halftime to 10-7 in favor of Natabua.
In the second half, the intensity continued to rise. Once again, Natabua built momentum with Ropate Varani adding another try. However, with both teams exchanging penalties and tries, the match culminated in a tense finale where the score was locked at 17-17. It was then that Natabua earned a penalty deep in Marist territory, setting the stage for Topoto’s decisive kick.
Topoto expressed gratitude for the support from his teammates and attributed the victory to divine guidance and their collective effort. “Yes, the game was very tough—they gave their 100 percent and we also gave our 100 percent. We thank God for giving us the wisdom and strength to achieve our goal today,” he stated.
