This year’s events showcased Jupiter House as the overall champion in the girls’ division, while Venus House took the title in the boys’ division. Principal Virendra Sharma noted the increased competitiveness this year, emphasizing a balanced representation between boys and girls. He highlighted the exceptional performances of new athletes who delivered surprising victories throughout the competition.
A notable achievement was when Inoke Nasoqa, a junior boy, was awarded the male athlete award, marking a significant milestone as it was the first time a junior received such recognition at Natabua. Sharma praised the competitive spirit shown by all participants, suggesting that the varied house victories across genders underline the rich talent pool within the school.
This event aligns with a wider pattern seen in inter-house athletics across Fijian schools, promoting participation and skill demonstration among young athletes in a nurturing atmosphere. Such competitions are essential for fostering camaraderie, teamwork, and healthy rivalry among students, which are crucial for nurturing future sporting talent.
Natabua High School’s vibrant athletic culture offers optimism for both individual athletes and the school’s overall sporting prospects, encouraging participants to aim for greater achievements in their sporting journeys.
