In this year’s Weet-Bix Raluve Under-18 competition, a new champion will be crowned after Natabua High School defeated the defending champions, Dawasamu Secondary School, with a score of 27-22 in the second semifinal held this afternoon.
Natabua High School started strong with an early converted try. Dawasamu Secondary maintained their composure and managed to narrow the score to 7-5 by halftime.
The Lautoka team quickly found their rhythm in the second half, scoring their second try shortly after the restart. Although Dawasamu responded promptly, Natabua increased their lead with two quick tries.
Despite Dawasamu’s determination, which included a third try showcasing their fighting spirit, Natabua broke through their defense again, scoring a fourth try to secure the victory.
Natabua High School will now advance to face Adi Cakobau School in the Under-18 final next weekend.
