The Natabua High School Under-18 girls rugby team is determined to enhance their discipline and fundamental skills ahead of the Weet-Bix Raluve Trophy semi-final next week. This statement comes from NHS head coach Inoke Vucago following their impressive 41-0 victory over Nasinu Secondary School on Friday.
“We lost in the quarterfinal last year, and this year we are eager to go further,” Vucago remarked. He emphasized the approach of taking it one game at a time, acknowledging the team’s thorough preparation prior to the quarterfinal.
After leading 17-0 at halftime, Vucago encouraged the players to increase their scoring. He noted that many of the players have participated in the Marama Championship with the Nadi, Yasawa, and Lautoka under-20 clubs, making them well-prepared for 40-minute matches.
Looking ahead to the semi-final, Vucago stated that a stronger performance would be necessary. He expressed pride in the players for their hard work and commitment to their game plan, affirming their hunger for victory.
Vucago dedicated the win to the parents, teachers, and students of NHS. He highlighted the strength of their forwards, who have shown dominance, while also noting a strong backline that provides balance to the team.
