The Natabua High School Under-18 girls rugby team is focused on enhancing their discipline and basic techniques ahead of the Weet-Bix Raluve Trophy semi-final next week. NHS head coach Inoke Vucago shared these insights following their impressive 41-0 victory over Nasinu Secondary School on Friday.
After experiencing a quarterfinal loss last year, the team has entered this season determined to advance further. Vucago emphasized the importance of taking it one game at a time, acknowledging their thorough preparation leading up to the quarterfinal.
During halftime, with a 17-0 lead, Vucago encouraged his players to increase their scoring. He noted that many team members have gained valuable experience playing in the Marama Championship for under-20 clubs in Nadi, Yasawa, and Lautoka, preparing them well for 40-minute matches.
The coach expressed pride in his players for their dedication and execution of 80 percent of their game plan, highlighting their determination to win. He dedicated the team’s victory to the parents, teachers, and students of NHS.
Vucago praised the strength of their forward pack, which has been dominant, while also noting the balance provided by a strong backline.
