The Natabua High School Under-18 girls rugby team aims to enhance their discipline and fundamental techniques as they prepare for the Weet-Bix Raluve Trophy semi-final next week. This follows their impressive 41-0 victory over Nasinu Secondary School on Friday, as noted by NHS head coach Inoke Vucago.

“We faced a setback in the quarterfinals last year, and we are determined to advance further this season,” Vucago remarked. He emphasized the importance of taking each game one at a time, crediting the players’ preparation leading up to the quarterfinal match.

At halftime, with the team leading 17-0, Vucago encouraged the players to increase their scoring. Most of the team members have experience from competing in the Marama Championship for under-20 clubs from Nadi, Yasawa, and Lautoka, which has contributed to their readiness for 40-minute matches.

Vucago expressed pride in the players for diligently executing 80% of their game plan, showing a strong desire to succeed. He dedicated the victory to the parents, teachers, and students of NHS.

“Our forwards have been particularly dominant, but we also possess a robust backline, creating a well-balanced team,” he noted, stressing the need for improved performance in the upcoming semi-final.
