Nasinu Secondary School maintained their unbeaten streak in the Vodafone U18 Deans competition, clinching a tough 17-13 victory over Tailevu North College during their quarterfinal match at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva this afternoon.

Tailevu North surprised the southern zone champions by jumping to a 6-0 lead early on, courtesy of two successful penalties from Ratu Kolinio in the 5th and 12th minutes. However, Nasinu quickly regained control with a determined effort.

Josevata Vaibete scored a try in the 26th minute, and with a successful conversion, Nasinu took a narrow lead at 7-6. The match was fiercely contested, but Tailevu North struggled with discipline, receiving a yellow card.

Despite this challenge, they managed to fight back and crossed the try line, although their effort was disallowed by the referee. Nasinu seized the momentum, adding another hard-earned try to their score.

Tailevu North eventually responded with a brilliant try, which was awarded after careful consideration by the referees. However, another disciplinary issue resulted in a second yellow card, leaving them a player short. Nasinu capitalized on this advantage, sealing their victory with a late penalty to finish the match at 17-13.
