The Nasinu Volleyball Association is set for a thrilling month ahead, showcasing their commitment to the sport with a series of engaging events. This Saturday, they will kick off a Grassroots Volleyball tournament at the Vodafone Arena in Suva, paving the way for their participation in the Vanua Challenge later this month.
In a bid to foster involvement from their affiliated clubs and the broader community, the association has teamed up with the Fiji Sports Council to roll out a month-long Grassroots Development Program. This initiative is designed to offer high-level facilities and rigorous gameplay opportunities to their Tribal Risks NVA affiliated clubs, ensuring inclusivity for all participants.
The Nasinu Volleyball Alliance team, despite facing defeat in the final of the Vulaca Volleyball Championship against the Suva men’s team, is determined to rebound as they gear up for future challenges. Club president Matai Daulako expressed appreciation for the ongoing support from affiliated clubs, emphasizing the vital role of trust and excellence within the association.
“This initiative allows our Tribal Risks NVA affiliated clubs to experience high-level facilities and intense gameplay,” Daulako stated. “Our clubs are the reason we exist, and in recognition of this, we’ve established a substantial prize pool to encourage performance.” The prize distribution for the upcoming tournament includes $5,000 for the men’s winner and $2,000 for the women’s winner, among other awards.
As anticipation builds for the Vanua Challenge, the focus for the Tribal Risk NVA team is on refining their tactics and elevating their match fitness. Daulako mentioned, “This program is designed to sharpen our game time and fitness before we hit the court for the Vanua Challenge. We are focused on making tactical adjustments and tightening our defensive structures to excel under pressure.”
The association extends gratitude to families, supporters, and sponsors who have contributed significantly to their progress. With backing from naming rights sponsor Tribal Risk PTE Ltd and partners such as Fiji Sports Council, Kundan Singh, and Grace Road, the Nasinu Volleyball Association is well-prepared to embrace the upcoming challenges and make this month a memorable one for volleyball enthusiasts. The community’s support stands as a testament to the vibrant spirit of volleyball in the region.
