In an exciting development for the town of Nasinu, more than 7,000 new jobs are anticipated to be generated this year through significant infrastructure and investment initiatives. A key project, the multibillion-dollar Emerald Bay development in Nadawa, is currently in its early stages and is expected to play a pivotal role in this employment surge.

The Nasinu Town Council (NTC) has expressed its readiness to streamline permits and facilitate necessary paperwork, creating a conducive environment for growth. Executive Chairman Felix Magnus has highlighted the Council’s commitment to urban renewal and job creation as vital steps in Nasinu’s ambition to attain city status by 2030. He emphasized, “Providing employment opportunities is key to reducing crime, boosting local businesses, and enhancing community well-being.”

Alongside the Emerald Bay project, further initiatives such as the multimillion-dollar venture between Lyndhurst Ltd and the Fiji National Provident Fund at the Kalabo Tax Free Zone in Valelevu are set to contribute significantly to job creation. These projects encompass various sectors, including infrastructure and construction, green energy, sustainable industries, and technology and digital innovation.

The NTC has also forged a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, aimed at promoting environmental sustainability. This collaborative effort will support initiatives focused on creating a cleaner and more resilient Nasinu. Magnus stated, “A cleaner Nasinu is a healthier and more prosperous Nasinu.”

The Emerald Bay Integrated Tourism Development project is expected to be a transformative effort for Nasinu, reinforcing its aspirations of becoming Fiji’s third city by 2030. Magnus reiterated that the project will provide necessary employment and enhance the local economy, crucial for reaching the city milestone.

In summary, the Nasinu Town Council’s proactive measures in facilitating major development projects are expected to result in thousands of job opportunities and positively transform the community. This initiative not only aims to boost the economy but also emphasizes environmental sustainability, promising a brighter future for Nasinu and its residents.
