“Nasinu Secondary School Under-16 Girls’ Rugby Team Wins Against Naitasiri: Aims for Raluve U16 Title”

The Nasinu Secondary School (NSS) Under-16 girls’ rugby team emerged successful against the Naitasiri Secondary School (NSS) with a 15-5 score in their Weet-Bix Raluve Trophy face-off in Suva this past Saturday.

Tevita Damudamu, Head Coach of NSS, acknowledged the victory but pointed out that their performance would need some enhancement before they face their next game. He stated, “There were a lot of improvements that need to be done by the players. Naitasiri Secondary made us work hard, but I’m grateful the girls held on.”

He further mentioned that the team displayed a brave attempt to keep the highlanders in check during the critical final moments of the game. Damudamu mentioned some strategies need reworking in their preparations for the next match, but first, they need to refine their mistakes.

“We made silly mistakes that cost us during the game.” Damudamu commented. “The girls need to collaborate better since it is the only feasible way to win. We also need to focus on disciplining the team, and it needs to be taken care of before the quarter-finals.”

He emphasized the increasing competitiveness of this year’s competition compared to last. Although the NSS aims to clinch the Raluve U16 title, Damudamu is aware that accomplishing this task will not be easy.

The results for the Southern Zone were announced, with the U14, U15, U17, and U18 matches seeing Marist Brothers, Dudley, Lomaivuna Secondary, and Suva Grammar among the victorious contenders.
