Nasinu Secondary School Triumphs in Thrilling U18 Quarterfinal Showdown

Nasinu Secondary School maintained their unbeaten streak in the Vodafone U18 Deans competition, winning a closely contested quarterfinal against Tailevu North College with a score of 17-13 at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva this afternoon.

Tailevu North initially took control of the match, gaining a 6-0 advantage through two penalties scored by Ratu Kolinio in the 5th and 12th minutes.

However, Nasinu quickly shifted the momentum in their favor. In the 26th minute, Josevata Vaibete scored a try, and after a successful conversion, Nasinu led 7-6.

The match was marked by intensity, as Tailevu North faced disciplinary issues which led to a yellow card. Despite being down a man, they managed to cross the try line, but the referee ruled the effort out.

Capitalizing on their momentum, Nasinu scored another tough try to increase their lead. Tailevu North later answered back with a remarkable try, which was approved by the referees after a discussion.

Nevertheless, Tailevu North’s discipline struggles continued, resulting in a second yellow card that left them short-staffed again. Nasinu seized this opportunity, sealing their victory with a late penalty and finishing the match at 17-13.
