Nasinu Secondary School Rides to Victory in Thrilling U18 Quarterfinal Clash!

Nasinu Secondary School maintained their unbeaten streak in the Vodafone U18 Deans competition with a narrow 17-13 victory over Tailevu North College during their quarterfinal match at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva today.

Tailevu North surprised the southern zone champions by initially taking a 6-0 lead, courtesy of two penalties scored by Ratu Kolinio at the 5th and 12th minutes.

Nasinu quickly turned the match around, showcasing resilience as Josevata Vaibete scored a try in the 26th minute, followed by a successful conversion that put Nasinu ahead 7-6.

The contest was fiercely competitive, with Tailevu North facing disciplinary issues, leading to a yellow card. Despite this challenge, they managed to counterattack and reached the try line, but their effort was not recognized by the referee.

Seizing the momentum, Nasinu scored another tough try, extending their lead further. Tailevu North eventually got a try awarded after some discussion among the referees, but they were hampered by another yellow card, leaving them a player short on the field.

Nasinu capitalized on this opportunity, securing the match with a late penalty to conclude the game at 17-13.
