“Nasinu Secondary School Girls’ Rugby Team Victory: Improvement Needed Ahead of Quarterfinals”

The Under-16 girls’ rugby team of Nasinu Secondary School triumphed over Naitasiri Secondary School with a score of 15-5 in their Weet-Bix Raluve Trophy match, which took place in Suva last Saturday.

NSS head coach, Tevita Damudamu, recognized the victory but also stressed the need for the team to enhance their performance in preparation for the upcoming game. They need to work on several areas of improvement, according to Damudamu.

The coach acknowledged Naitasiri Secondary’s strong effort, which challenged them significantly. Despite this, NSS managed to maintain their lead, especially in the final moments of the match. He noted that while they have strategies to deploy for the next match, they first need to rectify their errors.

Damudamu emphasized team unity and discipline as crucial aspects that need to be addressed before the quarter-finals. The coach also remarked on the increased competitiveness of the tournament compared to the previous year.

The ultimate goal of NSS is to claim the Raluve U16 title this year. However, Coach Damudamu is well aware that achieving this goal will be challenging.
