The Ministry of Health reported that health inspectors conducted a follow-up inspection today at Nasinu Secondary School. This inspection was initiated after the school was instructed to address health and safety issues in its boarding facilities. The directive for improvements came on the final day of the school year in 2025, giving the school a seven-week deadline to complete the necessary corrective actions.

During the recent inspection, inspectors noted significant progress, highlighting that the first two boys’ dormitory buildings had been fully repaired, thoroughly cleaned, and declared ready for occupancy. All required facilities have been replaced and are now functioning properly.

However, repair work is still ongoing for the third dormitory building and the dining hall. The school management has assured that this remaining work will be completed before boarding students return on Tuesday.

The Ministry also confirmed that health inspectors will continue to monitor the situation. A re-inspection of the school canteen and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) facilities will occur once the school reopens to ensure ongoing compliance with health standards. This proactive approach reflects a commitment to the safety and well-being of students, reinforcing the importance of maintaining healthy learning environments in educational institutions.
