“Nasinu Secondary Girls’ Rugby Team Triumphs over Naitasiri in Weet-Bix Raluve Trophy Clash”

The Under-16 girls’ rugby squad from Nasinu Secondary School (NSS) triumphed over Naitasiri Secondary School 15-5 in the Weet-Bix Raluve Trophy match held in Suva on Saturday.

NSS Head Coach, Tevita Damudamu, acknowledged the victory but stressed the need for the team to improve their performance for future matches. “The players need to step up their game,” Damudamu stated.

He also commended Naitasiri Secondary for a challenging game, saying the team really “made us work hard, but the girls managed to hold on.” The team made a substantial effort to fend off the highlanders during the concluding stages of the match.

Damudamu pointed out the mistakes made during the game and emphasized the need for the girls to work together and improve their discipline before the quarter-finals.

The competition this year appears to be more intense than the previous year, according to Damudamu. Winning the Raluve U16 title is the NSS’s goal, but the coach recognizes the challenge.

The results for Southern Zone games include U14: Marist Brothers 36-3 CMF College; U15: Dudley 12-5 Suva Sangam, AOGHS 10-17 Nabua Secondary; U17: Marist Brothers 12-12 Suva Grammar; while in U18: Suva Grammar fell 21-24 to Nasinu Secondary, and MGM took a win at 26-15 over Marist Brothers.
