A tragic motor vehicle accident in Nasinu has resulted in the death of a primary school student. The young victim was reportedly standing on a footpath along Khalsa Road when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a 25-year-old man.

Following the incident, the driver quickly transported the injured child to CWM Hospital; however, the victim was pronounced dead upon arrival. Authorities are currently conducting an investigation to gather more details regarding the circumstances surrounding the accident.

This incident contributes to a concerning trend, with the national road death toll now at five, compared to just two fatalities during the same period last year. It highlights the urgent need for increased awareness and safety measures on the roads to protect pedestrians, especially vulnerable groups such as children.
