The Nasinu Legends have made history by becoming the first team to secure a spot in the semifinals of the over-45s grade at the 2025 RC Manubhai/APCO Coatings International Veterans Tournament held in Suva. They achieved this milestone by winning both of their matches, starting with a narrow 1-0 victory over Suva Combine, followed by another 1-0 win against Rewa Legends.
Bringing a wealth of experience to the team, the Nasinu Legends include former national player Valerio Nasema and Usaia Tadu, alongside notable former Nasinu representatives such as Lawrence Robert, Ronald Ram, Rajendra Kumar, and Itesh Singh. Their collective expertise has been a crucial factor in the team’s success thus far.
Other results from the tournament reveal that Suva Combine Masters triumphed over Rewa Legends with a decisive 4-0 victory, while Lami Veterans narrowly defeated My Suva Legends 1-0. In another matchup, Navua Masters faced a setback against Suva Masters, losing 2-0. The tournament is set to continue at the Fiji FA Academy grounds in Vatuwaqa tomorrow.
Looking ahead, the semifinals will be hosted at HFC Stadium on Saturday, with the final match scheduled as a curtain-raiser for the BiC Fiji FACT final on Sunday.
