The Nasinu Town Council is intensifying its efforts to enhance cleanliness and safety within the community. Council teams are focusing on key areas such as grass cutting, waste collection, and conducting routine inspections to ensure neighborhoods remain tidy and secure.
Recently, the grass-cutting team was seen working along Tiri Road in Nadawa, where they cleared verges and roadside vegetation. They emphasized that maintaining trimmed verges improves driver visibility, keeps pedestrian paths clear, and makes traffic signs and house numbers more visible. In addition, such maintenance aids in proper drainage, minimizes the risk of flooding, and deters pests and snakes.
The Enforcement Team has been undertaking house-to-house visits to ensure residents adhere to council regulations. They noted that routine checks are crucial in identifying potential issues early, such as blocked drains or improper waste disposal. Additionally, they have been distributing updated white and green waste collection schedules to assist households in planning and avoiding the exposure of waste that could attract pests.
In response to residents’ complaints about strong odors in Cunningham, council teams acted swiftly to collect kitchen waste. They highlighted that the timely removal of waste not only protects public health but also reduces the presence of flies, rats, and stray animals, while preventing food scraps from contaminating drains and waterways.
Residents are reminded to secure their waste in bags, place bins outside only on designated collection days, and consider the benefits of home composting.
The Nasinu Town Council reaffirmed that these initiatives reflect their ongoing commitment to public safety, environmental stewardship, and community well-being. They encourage residents to report missed pickups or areas needing attention through official channels, fostering a collaborative approach to maintaining a clean and safe environment for all.
This concerted effort underscores the importance of community involvement in preserving the neighborhood’s health and aesthetic appeal, and it highlights the positive steps being taken towards a cleaner future.
