In November, specifically on the 20th and 21st, a significant event focused on the community of Namosi was held, demonstrating a firm commitment toward a drug-free environment. This initiative seeks to create a comprehensive strategy aimed at eliminating drug-related issues within the province, ensuring that the youth are safeguarded from the dangers associated with substance abuse.

The event, titled “Valuti, Vakadrukai kei na Vakarusai ni Waigaga ni Veivakamatenitaki — Namosi na Drug Free Province,” emphasizes the importance of community-led actions over a three-year plan aimed at combatting drug trafficking and use. Tui Namosi, Ratu Suliano, highlighted the role of local leaders and community members and expressed optimism about their collective ability to enforce these changes.

During discussions at the Bose Levu Vakaturaga, Ratu Suliano reiterated the urgency of addressing drug issues in the region, acknowledging the collaborative efforts of local leaders and churches to provide strong guidance and support.

Paula Delaivuna, the Roko Tui Namosi, explained that the initiative has been in development since July and is part of larger regional efforts to curb the impact of substance abuse, referencing previous successful measures. Delaivuna emphasized that protecting the youth is a primary goal of this initiative.

Both Delaivuna and Ratu Suliano underscored the significance of cooperation among government departments to establish effective regulations against substance use. They urged community members to engage in conversations around the dangers of drug use, aiming to reinforce prevention measures at every level.

As the community rallies behind this initiative, the leaders are hopeful that these proactive strategies will significantly reduce the impact of substance abuse. The collaboration among various stakeholders, including law enforcement and healthcare providers, indicates a unified front against these societal challenges.

In conclusion, the ongoing efforts in Namosi to cultivate a drug-free region present a promising path forward. With local leaders actively involved and a clear strategy in place, there is a positive outlook for reducing the prevalence of substance abuse and strengthening community resilience.

This initiative serves as a reminder of the power of collective action in creating significant positive change within communities.
