Namosi Challenge 2024: A Race of Beauty and Endurance Awaits!

The Namosi Challenge is recognized as Fiji’s most difficult race, and it also holds the title of being one of the country’s most scenic events, according to Beth Sargent, the president of the Suva Marathon Club. During the launch of the Namosi Challenge 2024 at Mana Coffee, Sargent shared that last year, the event saw participation from 300 runners. This year, the goal is to attract 400 participants, including both runners and walkers.

The 2024 challenge will feature several categories, including a half marathon (21km), a solo marathon (10km), and a team marathon, where groups of four will each run 10km to complete a full marathon. Sargent expressed enthusiasm for the event as an opportunity not only for running but also for engaging with the local communities in Namosi.

Additionally, she announced partnerships with two significant local organizations, the Namosi Secondary School and the Namosi Highlanders Rugby League Club. Sargent encouraged participants to seek sponsors and donations to support their endeavors, with the funds raised going towards these important institutions in Namosi.
