Organizers of the Namaka Volleyball and Rugby 7s Tournaments have released important updates regarding registration deadlines and event specifics. Biu Tadranu, the tournament organizer, announced that the registration period for the Namaka Rugby 7s Tournament has been extended until next Friday.
The tournament is scheduled for January 24-25 at the Namaka Public School grounds and will feature 24 men’s teams and 8 women’s teams. The prize money for the men’s champions is set at $5,000, while the winners in the women’s category will receive $2,500. The registration fees for participating teams are $500 for men’s teams and $400 for women’s teams. Tadranu emphasized the tournament’s goal of fostering grassroots rugby development and creating opportunities for emerging talent to showcase their skills.
In parallel, the registration for the Namaka Volleyball Tournament is closing tomorrow. This tournament is set to take place earlier, on January 17-18, also at Namaka Public School. Both events are designed to unite the community and enhance sports development in Fiji.
This initiative not only highlights the commitment to sports but also serves as a great opportunity for local talents to emerge and gain recognition. As organizations focus on community engagement through sport, events like these foster teamwork, discipline, and camaraderie among participants, promoting a positive and healthy lifestyle.
