The organizers of the Namaka Volleyball and Rugby 7s Tournaments have provided updates regarding registration timelines and event specifics. According to tournament organizer Biu Tadranu, the registration for the Namaka Rugby 7s Tournament has been extended until next Friday. This exciting event is scheduled to take place on January 24-25 at Namaka Public School grounds, featuring 24 men’s teams and 8 women’s teams.
Participants can look forward to competitive prize money, with the men’s champions set to receive $5,000 and the women’s winners receiving $2,500. The registration fees are established at $500 for men’s teams and $400 for women’s teams. Tadranu emphasized that the tournament seeks to foster grassroots rugby development, allowing new talent to emerge and showcase their skills on a larger stage.
In parallel, the registration for the Namaka Volleyball Tournament will close tomorrow, with the event set to occur earlier, from January 17-18, also at Namaka Public School. Both tournaments are designed to unite the community and enhance sports development in Fiji, highlighting the importance of sports in fostering teamwork, discipline, and local engagement.
