The Vanua o Nalolo Great Council of Chiefs convened today to focus on implementing a pivotal memorandum of understanding (MOU) that was signed on December 22, 2025. This significant gathering was aimed at bolstering the Vanua’s business initiatives and enhancing revenue streams to ensure long-term sustainability.
During the meeting, chiefs and representatives reviewed ongoing investments and acknowledged that the MOU is a crucial step toward translating long-standing plans into tangible actions. The anticipated outcomes are set to positively impact landowning units and communities throughout Nalolo.
Consultant Epironi Naisui emphasized the importance of the meeting as a platform for uniting all stakeholders. He noted the necessity of clear communication regarding the benefits that the Vanua’s development initiatives will bring to its people.
“This is a platform and also an avenue to try and get all this information across to all the stakeholders and also the people who are the beneficiaries, as well as the landowning units with all the members of the Vanua,” Naisui stated.
He highlighted that the signing and execution of the MOU is a momentous achievement for the Vanua, expressing gratitude to the people of Nalolo and all supporting stakeholders, including government entities.
“The MOU is now being brought to fruition, and we’d like to say thank you to everybody,” he added.
The Vanua o Nalolo Council of Chiefs has effectively enhanced its leadership, fostered unity, and established a clear direction for transforming plans into real benefits for its communities.
