The Navua Football Association is actively pursuing a transfer for national team striker Sairusi Nalaubu as part of their preparations for the 2025 domestic season. Nalaubu, currently with Lautoka, has attracted attention from several clubs, including Suva and Rewa, but it appears that Navua has presented him with a more appealing offer.

Lautoka’s President, Shalendra Prasad, has confirmed that Navua FA has reached out to begin the transfer process. According to Prasad, while no formal application has been made yet, Navua has inquired about the necessary procedures. He emphasized that Lautoka would ensure all contractual obligations are met before granting any transfer approval, highlighting that Nalaubu owes significant amounts to his current team due to previous loans and contractual breaches.

Although no official applications have been submitted so far, Prasad remains hopeful that the players who represented Lautoka in the last season will continue with the club. He stated, “We will not hold back any player who wishes to switch districts, but all arrangements must be properly lodged and agreed upon.”

This development comes as Navua similarly aims to strengthen its squad, reflecting the competitive nature of Fijian football as teams prepare for the upcoming season. As the transfer window progresses, it will be interesting to see how these negotiations unfold and whether Nalaubu ultimately makes a move to Navua or any other club.

The ongoing negotiations signify not only the ambition of Navua to enhance their performance but also a broader trend where clubs are actively seeking to build competitive teams, which could lead to a thrilling season ahead for fans and players alike.
