The Navua Football Association is keenly pursuing the transfer of national team striker Sairusi Nalaubu for the upcoming 2025 domestic season. Nalaubu, who has previously been in discussions with clubs such as Suva and Rewa, is reported to have received an attractive offer from Navua, indicating their serious interest in acquiring his talents.

Lautoka’s President Shalendra Prasad confirmed that Navua FA has initiated contact regarding the potential transfer. While they have formally reached out, Prasad noted that a proper application has yet to be submitted. He emphasized that Lautoka maintains rights over the player and must approve any negotiations as per Fiji FA regulations. “No formal application has been made…whichever district wants to sign him will have to pay a huge amount to Lautoka FA,” Prasad stated, highlighting Nalaubu’s existing financial obligations to his current club.

This scenario reflects the ongoing activity within Fiji’s football transfer landscape as clubs actively seek to enhance their squads. The transfer window, which allows teams to sign a limited number of players—typically up to three—represents an essential period for strategic recruitment. Clubs like Rewa are also looking to bolster their teams in preparation for both domestic and international competitions.

Overall, the focus on strengthening team rosters through player transfers presents an exciting opportunity for clubs and fans alike, signaling a promising season ahead for the Fijian football community. This initiative to attract top talents could potentially lead to a more competitive and dynamic league, fostering the growth of the sport in the region.
