Seventeen students at Naitasiri Secondary School, involved in a recent accident, will be granted a compassionate pass, contingent upon recommendations from both the Sub Divisional Medical Officer (SDMO) and the Head of School (HoS). This announcement was confirmed by Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro.
The incident occurred at Saumakia Junction in Navuniyasi Village, where the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, leading to the accident. The injured students were promptly taken to Vunidawa Hospital for care. Details regarding the cause of the accident remain unavailable, as police investigations are still ongoing.
In addition to the compassionate pass, Minister Radrodro encouraged affected students and their families to file claims with the Accident Compensation Commission Fiji (ACCF). He assured that the Head of School would provide assistance to help students and guardians navigate the claims process effectively.
